English version

The website „UchodĽcy do szkoły" („Refugees go to school!") has been launched as a result of the "Awareness campaign for teachers", prepared and implemented by The Refugee Centre in the Polish Humanitarian Organisation and financed by the UNHCR.

The aim of the "Awareness campaign for teachers" is to educate teachers, school headmasters, counsellors, school psychologists, to inform on the situation of refugees, their culture and potential problems as well as to talk about their experience and ideas.

On „UchodĽcy do szkoły!" you can find information on the situation of refugees and on issues concerning them, especially education. The main part of the Project is the Internet Forum, where those working with refugee children can talk about their experience, consult legal and psychological experts and raise funds. We would like to enable teachers working with refugee children to set up a contact network, where they could support each other and share good practice ideas for their work.

So far seven teacher trainings concerning the education of refugee children have been organised under the project. During 3-day workshops primary school and gimnazjum (secondary school) teachers can gain deeper knowledge on refugee issues, intercultural competences, to know the basis of negotiation, to know more about Chechen culture and gain some information on available funds for implementing educational projects.
